This past Saturday, I headed down to Steve Schuitt’s and Ryan Dunn’s MLM Biz Builder workshop in El Segundo, Ca. To preface this short video snippet, these guys were talking about what our goals, objectives and what we wanted to accomplish for a particular day. Basically explaining that we needed to complete a daily meeting with ourselves. FOCUS.

Important> Make sure you set yourself up to do a “Uncomfortable Challenge”: (i.e. Ask a girl/guy on a date/ Interview an expert/ Contact a celebrity/ Public speaking/ Tell your mom/dad you love them/ etc.)
It is seriously the only way you guys are gonna grow in this business.

I hope this can be a helpful guide for all of you that are overwhelmed, to follow on a daily basis.

Sometimes this “defective feeling” that we have can be the number one cause of most people’s failures at almost anything they do in life, not just in their new online business…

And it’s something that shows it’s little head throughout many different parts of our lives and if we ONLY knew how to ‘See’ it… if we only knew what a blessing it REALLY is… then I’m sure we wouldn’t let it cause us so many problems.

So what am I talking about?

I’m talking about those feelings of not being good enough or worth a damn… and there is no better opportunity for your feelings to come out then when you’re starting or trying to build your own online business.  You see, we all enter this industry as complete newbies. Whether it’s network marketing itself, whether it’s learning how to use technology, the internet, no matter what it is… we all start at ground Zero. Unless you were born into it, which most average people aren’t, then we start at the bottom struggling…

And because of that… we don’t have a clue what we’re doing! I sure as heck didn’t. I fell for all the scams, I was in it for the money in the beginning. I ain’t gonna lie! Of course, things have changed now but when I first started, I was looking for that golden goose.  These moments are truly the testing phase of whether we are going to succeed in our business or not. Because when we set out to learn something new, or try something new, and we hit that first round of challenges, or that first round of obstacles… Here come those defective feelings.

But they aren’t alone…

You might feel stupid, you might feel worthless, you might start questioning your foundation as a person entirely. What kind of person can’t succeed right? And that little voice in your head says… “A bad person!”  And it’s at this point that many people choose to take the easier route out. They choose to walk away from what they ‘Think’ is causing these uncomfortable feelings. Meaning the business. But in truth… it’s NOT the business that causes these feelings. Here’s the tough part to swallow, you already have these feelings anyway. The business is just a trigger that brings them out. And you can either run from them and retreat to what’s comfortable or you can see this as the true gift that it really is and face these feelings… and figure out why they are there to begin with.

Why is this a gift?

Because when you do that… DOORS open up to you that previously were completely closed. Not only in the realm of business will you be a far more efficient and powerful entrepreneur but you will also have your personal and emotionally life radically transformed before your eyes. And that is what I consider one of the most beautiful things about the home based business industry. This industry can actually lead you to making crazy changes within your own self that will bring much more peace, emotional growth, and strength to your life.. and as all that grows… you just so happen to watch your wealth grow right beside you. In fact, I’ve never seen an industry period where the growth of your self correlates to the growth of your wealth as closely as this industry.

If you run away?

And guess what happens to those of us that hit these feelings, yet choose to run the other way… not much. Our lives don’t change, in fact they stagnate. And we hardly reach our financial goals because we didn’t have the emotional resiliency to charge through the tough times that we will inevitably face. These feelings are truly what I believe to be the biggest stumbling block in a person’s success… and also the reason a person will choose to quit on themselves.

Was is tough for me?

Darn right! I can’t even describe how tough it was when I first got started in this industry. I felt like I got kicked in the … ya you know! I spent months to years getting rejected by so many people I knew. I spent thousands of dollars on training materials, events, marketing needs, useless products, you name it. Do you think I felt very good? Do you think I felt like a competent and smart entrepreneur? I felt like Crap!

There were many times that I wanted to quit… that I questioned everything I was doing… but the reason for all of that was fear. I was just scared, and insecure, and because of that I almost quit a few times. I think I was afraid of success. I though that something as awesome as living that lifestyle, having my business and helping people do the same was too good for me… Yet something in me just wouldn’t let me. And this is honestly where I can say I’m very lucky because there was something in me that just wouldn’t let me quit.

I did NOT quit.

Every time I got kicked, I just got back up again and tried something else. I spent the first year or two on the internet just LEARNING. I wasn’t making any immediate big money. In fact, I still wasn’t making much money at all and was scared, insecure, having doubts… yet I had seen enough to know how much potential there really was here. I was being HONEST with myself about how I really felt. I wasn’t running away to what’s comfortable, I was facing what was uncomfortable and staring it in the face.

I was listening to my family doubt me, my friends mock me, and others tell me I need to “get real.”

Yet my desire to grow,my desire to really manifest the vision I had was so strong that I faced each feeling one by one and constantly just moved through them. And on top of that I questioned where they come from to begin with. And that’s the blessing. Because when you start to question these feelings… and really look into them… you find they have absolutely no truth what so ever. You see that they are merely creations of your mind… and once you see yourself for what you really are, you realize that those feelings are just a bunch of garbage! You can watch them pass like the clouds and know they have no reality what so ever. But you can’t do that unless you are dedicated to seeing yourself for what you really are because if you believe yourself to be those feelings, or thoughts, then you’re doomed to get carried off in them when they come about.

So what now?

Our sole focus, if we want true freedom from the limiting belief structures and feelings that hold us back in life, has to be on waking up to what we really are. Without the knowledge of what we really are, then every time something happens that triggers feelings of “defectiveness” or low self worth… off we go! You’ll find yourself repeating the same cycles over and over again throughout many different areas of your life. And just to let you know… if you think that by some how having a bunch of money is going to get rid of these feelings you are mistaken.

I can tell you from firsthand experience that just because you make a lot of money it doesn’t mean your problems are going to go away.

In fact, if you haven’t dealt with lots of issues in your life… money will almost always just magnify them. Take for instance the people who win the lottery and become horrible alcoholics, or addicts, and in less then 3 years are either dead or have lost everything. Or that dude that won a cut of 41 million tax free and freakin’ squandered it… (dumb a$$)

And in Network Marketing… that’s even more true. Because I’ve rarely met a single person who’s created crazy success in this industry that hasn’t done the work, both physical and emotional, to get there. So start watching the feelings that arise as you build your business in this industry more closely. Realize whether they are good or bad… they are a blessing… because they will show you the area’s you need to grow in. And if you put in the work… if you challenge yourself to GROW in those areas… you come out on the other end not only a far more successful entrepreneur…but a far more successful person as well.

This post today has to deal with where you are at in your financial journey so far… Let me say this, don’t let any one fool you… being an entrepreneur is not an easy task (at first).  Being an entrepreneur takes a certain kind of quality which I like to refer to as “the real game”. You see, if your game isn’t in order… you are probably not going to be able to overcome the difficult obstacles EVERYONE faces when starting their own business.

It’s almost like you need to have this BULLISH mentality, of charging through any and all adversity, like NOTHING will ever stop you from achieving your goal. When that is your mentality, you can dive into entrepreneurship head first and just plow through obstacles to find solutions. Nobody knows everything.  Do you think Bill Gates knew how to make $40 billion dollars when he started Microsoft?

It just doesn’t work that way.  If you are sitting around thinking “I need to know everything before I start a business” you have entrepreneurship completely backwards.

Being an entrepreneur is KNOWING you are able to be an entrepreneur.  And the rest just follows.  The marketing, the data, the details about businesses; all that stuff is SECOND to whether or not you believe in yourself enough to make it all happen. So what does this have to do with the subject line of this post?

Because you have to KNOW yourself, and TRUST yourself that you can do what you set your mind too.  Just trust yourself. Just TRUST YOURSELF.  The information will follow, the people to help get you there will follow, the teachings will follow, but none of it will follow… unless you trust yourself. Because every once in a while life will throw you a bread crumb. A simple win. A $1 commission. Anything that shows that creating wealth online is possible.

There’s a second side to this coin.  You have to trust your intuition.

If you feel like you aren’t ready to build a business, then DON’T force it. Take some time to build your confidence, to build your value, and build your belief level in yourself.  Take the time you need to grow as a person.  Because when you do that, you are truly ready to declare “I Want Financial Freedom” and have the right internal framework to go get it. Now don’t use that as an excuse to be lazy either!  If that is your way of putting off taking action, you are DOUBLE lying to yourself.  All I am saying, is know where you are at in life, honor that position, and trust that you are guiding yourself in the best direction.

Don’t ever be afraid to seek information, and ask questions either.  You will be amazed at how the universe responds when you put yourself out there.  Just trust. I am going to share a quote with you before I go today.

I want to re iterate a VERY powerful point today that will make the biggest difference in the world to building your business. Why would you not go out and take action on a consistent basis, and do the things that will SYSTEMATICALLY create the success you want, once you know how to do it? What stops people from really creating success?  What differentiates those who go out and place 75 ads, or make tons of videos, or post frequently and daily in forums… from those who go out and do none of it.

The word most commonly used in this industry is… ‘Mindset’

The mindset of the entrepreneur who is most successful is the one that is DEDICATED to taking action at all costs.  The TRUE successful entrepreneurs do not ‘expect’ things to just happen. They do not indulge in fantasies about everything just coming right to their feet at the push of a button.  The REAL successful entrepreneurs are the ones who go out… in the trenches… and do the things that create success on a daily basis. And if they don’t know how to do them… they LEARN.  They don’t quit.  They don’t stop believing in themselves.  They don’t foresee any other options then learning whatever they need to learn to advance in their goals.

There is NOTHING that can stop the true entrepreneur.

But this is not most people.  And I guess the point of this post today is to really think about WHERE you want to be… and what changes you need to make within yourself to get there. Because all the “technical” knowledge you need in the world is at your fingertips. You can go out there and buy courses on this stuff… But you know what you can’t buy… you can’t buy the SELF WORTH, the BELIEF LEVEL, the PASSION, the ENDURANCE that will enable you to reach crazy heights of success.  That stuff isn’t for sale.

That’s something you need to look deep within to pull up and bring to the surface.  And if you don’t… then frankly… I don’t know how ANYONE could expect to achieve the kinds of results that the most successful people achieve. If I was to hand you all my knowledge… would you go work as hard as I did?  Are you going to put in as many hours?  Are you going to make the sacrifices that need to be made to REALLY create the reality you want for yourself?

You see, I’ve learned a lot in just the past few days even. I’ve learned that if people aren’t willing to work incredibly hard for what they believe in… then they don’t really deserve to create the dream lifestyle we all envision for ourselves. If you’re not willing to put in the developmental work and the ‘physical marketing’ work, then you’re not going to see amazing life changing results.  It’s just that simple.

So this blurb on this blog post today is meant to be a wake up call for a lot of people.  And to help clarify what kind of mindset is really required to build a business. I don’t know what you’re in this industry for but I’m in this to build a company that does millions of dollars a year and has the power to make a serious impact in our world. To give back what was given. And that’s the mindset I’m going to teach people.  That’s my focus.  So if you want to do this as a hobby, you may not relate to the level of intensity I speak from.

Because only the very serious, the very hard working, and the very dedicated will do such a thing.  Everyone else is going to be watching from the sidelines… and We’ll know why.

Here’s my advice to you today about the Obstacles.

Get crazy honest with yourself about where you are and why that is.

If you’re afraid to do video marketing because you think you look stupid or will sound stupid then you need to learn why that is!

If you get freaked out every time you pick up the phone to call someone who might be a hot prospect for your business then you need to FIGURE THAT OUT.

If you have mental blockages that are SABOTAGING you from truly creating the life you know you can create… then you need to INVESTIGATE THEM.

You can’t pretend that everything in your life is going to change without YOU making the changes.

I know this can be a tough industry sometimes.  I know it’s scary when you haven’t created any success… yet you’re still on that Auto Ship, or you need to spend more money on marketing.

I know it’s tough!  But creating a truly profitable and successful passive residual business can give you a life that truly is beautiful in many senses of the word.  But the bottom line is this… you either put in the work to GROW YOURSELF and learn what the systematic steps are to create success.. Or you don’t. The amount of money you have flowing into your life will be EQUAL to the amount of work you put in on BOTH of those two things above. I know many people need to hear this to really take their business to the next level. I just want the best for everyone, and I know that proper expectations, and the truth about what it really takes to succeed is what is best for EVERYONE to actually go out and create it.

I may have talked about vision before, but I feel that this topic is very important so pay close attention to what I’m about to say.  I see a lot of people enter our beautiful industry with one thing on their mind and one thing only… Money. And you know what else I see… I see many of those people not creating the success they really want for themselves because as soon as their expectations aren’t met right away…they quit.

You want to know why the quit? Because they have no vision.

There is not something of REAL POWER driving them. They are being driven by images of success, and fantasies of how their life would be if only they had money.  And guess what? Even if we all had 5 million bucks in the bank right now… We’d still be OURSELVES. Do we think our problems go away just because we got money? Do we think all of a sudden life magically transforms because we’ve hit this goal in our head of having a certain amount of numbers on a screen when we check our bank accounts?

There is a reason why 80% of all the people who WIN the lottery, and come across large sums of money, are MORE MISERABLE AND BROKE 5 years from the day they got that money.

Did you know the statistics were that high? Think about that… 80% of all the people who won the lottery, and were surveyed 5 years later, were just as broke and actually more unhappy then they were before. Because WEALTH is not about money my friends. In fact, true wealth is FAR from it.

Real wealth is developed inside of you.

Wealth is something you cultivate within you…that ALLOWS you to create money.  Money is not wealth. Money is a by product of Wealth. Wealth…is something inside of you. Wealth…is your attitudes, thoughts, feelings, heart, mind, body, soul, in alignment with TRUE abundance. And true abundance is love, kindness, empathy, concern, sharing, wisdom, and a whole bunch of other things that are tough to put in words. And then people WONDER why they aren’t making money!!

Have you created the wealth first? 

Do you really know how powerful it is to have a VISION?

Do you know how powerful it is to have a purpose behind what you do that is FAR above and beyond just satisfying your own desires?

When you have a purpose that transcends just the day to day stuff. That’s when you get some REAL momentum building. That’s when people interact with you and just FEEL something. People can just feel…Whoa. Now that is a wealthy person. That is someone who has aligned themselves with everything that is ACTUALLY going to create wealth. Until I have manifested my vision… I will never stop. I will not slow down, I will not think I reached any goals, I will not stop working ever, until I have manifested my vision.

My vision is what drives me every single day.

So what is your vision, and why does it need to exist right now?  Why is it so important that you fulfill that vision?  THAT is what I have noticed makes the difference between real entrepreneurs who will go out and create things that boggle the mind, and the many who won’t. So if you want truly mammoth success this is what you need to do…

You NEED to build yourself a STRONG and solid foundation to stand upon when being an entreprenuer.

You need to make sure that you are standing on a total brick… That your foundation is SO SOLID that nothing can ever blow you away. You will withstand all hurricanes, earthquakes, everything. No matter what, You will still be standing. In fact, the only thing that could stop you is if the entire earth blew up right now and vanished back into the space it came from. THAT is the kind of foundation you should have if you want to Guarentee you create any amount of success you can ENVISION in life.

Of course…there are varying degrees of success. I hardly think anyone wants the same thing I want, or you want, or anyone else wants. We all want different things. But I’m just sharing with you today some of what I’ve learned about building a company, a business, something REAL and bringing it to success. If you want success and beyond, then you have to LEARN from those that create it.  You have to get inside their heads, and figure out what the internal circuitry is that allows them to use the exact same mediums, the exact same techniques, the exact same everything yet create massive success with it.

And once you have the KNOWLEDGE…your success comes down to how QUICKLY you can implement it. How quickly do you take that knowledge…and IMPLEMENT IT INTO YOUR BUSINESS. Not sit around and wonder about it, not sit around and think it sounds good, but HOW QUICKLY are you putting it to action. That is what the most successful people do. They take real knowledge, and they implement it as quickly as possible in their business. Hopefully you took from this email something of value that will help you to cultivate more of the Wealth, in which money is just a by product. And I urge you to reflect on what your REAL vision is…and why you do what you do…so you can be empowered at all costs to create it. With that behind you…the only thing left you have to worry about is the entire earth blowing up.   Your vision is YOUR SUCCESS.

Today I’m going to go over something that is MASSIVELY important to one being able to ACCOMPLISH very large things in life no matter what you’re trying to accomplish. In fact, this is one of those very ‘subtle’ secrets to success, that is so simple it slips under most people’s radar and they don’t realize how important it is.

Did you know you can FOOL yourself into thinking you are actually working when you’re not?

Did you know you can sit for 8 hours in front of a computer screen and accomplish absolutely nothing? Believe me, I’ve done it many times.

And today I’m going to share with you some KEY POINTS to managing yourself, and focusing your energy in a MUCH MORE productive manner so you can actually accomplish far more in smaller amounts of time.

First and foremost, you HAVE to understand how important it is to create and manage your TIME very efficiently. In fact, I would say it’s MORE IMPORTANT to manage your “time budget” every month then your actual marketing budget every month. Want to know why that is? Because YOU are the spear head driving your business forward. Your vision, your passion, your intelligence, your creativity is what is driving your business forward. That focused energy and intelligence is what leads you to whatever marketing medium you use, or advertising source, or whatever. And if you’re not managing THAT with your time, you are literally wasting all your natural potential at building enormous businesses.

You have to know where to focus your time and energy and this brings us to a very crucial point about WHERE you should be focusing your time when it comes to building your business. You see, each of us has different natural talents. And each of us has different natural areas where we are less talented. The most successful entrepreneurs FIND and ISOLATE their areas of TALENT…and they focus there. They spend their time on what they are TALENTED IN as it relates to building their businesses. A real world example is this. Lets say I LOVE to market on Facebook and I have learned how to develop leads and make money through this FREE avenue. It would be very WISE of me to focus lots of my time on learning and refining my Facebook tactics since it’s something I have talent in and I will be able to excel over my competition in the industry.

In contrast, If I’m not the greatest search engine expert in the world then I should NOT spend my time trying to learn search engine optimization since even if I did start to learn it I would naturally be at a disadvantage to someone who is just inclined to do that kind of work. You get the feel for this? You WANT to focus on the areas where you have natural talent in when it comes to building your business…and you want to FIND AND RECRUIT talented people to handle the areas of your business that you DON’T have natural talent in. That way, each side of your business is still the best of the best…because you find the best people to get the job done. Now, That is ultimately where you are going if you want to dominate every marketing medium there is, and build an absolutely huge company.

But let me tell you what I did when I was just getting started that allowed me to really start creating success in this industry, so you can TAKE ACTION TODAY and start creating results in your business right now. When I first got started, I FOCUSED solely on a few simple activities that I found WORKED when it came to me generating traffic and leads for my business. I focused on just a few simple things, that I did on a CONSISTENT and reliable basis, that ALWAYS produced consistent and reliable traffic. And I did not deviate from them at all. Once I started generating results… I then had more profit to play with. And THAT is when I started being able to re invest profit into hiring talented people to focus on even more marketing mediums that I might not be able to get to myself. This has allowed me to start getting  leverage, and build out different arms and legs of my company all over the place.

But it ALL STARTED with me finding what works for ME, and doing it on a consistent basis. Whether it’s Article marketing, PPC, Forum marketing, video Marketing, Facebook…you name it. I found what mediums I worked well in…and I DID THEM on a consistent basis to generate traffic and leads for my business.

THAT IS KEY.

Because you’re never going to get off the ground unless you make that happen. You can’t just sit in front of a computer screen for 8 hours a day and expect it to spit money at you! Massive results come in your business when you are focusing your energy on specific activities that produce systematic results. It’s TERRIBLY unproductive to try to be Multi Tasking, or be distracted by phone calls, or this or that, when you are in the middle of a TASK that is going to lead to results. It’s SO IMPORTANT that you have a system in place to get in the “zone” when it comes to working on your business. Because all those distractions will pull you out of your flow, and make your work less potent. Your work will become diluted. But when you are in the flow…when you’re constantly in the zone…you can crank out enormously productive work in a small amount of time. It’s a darn beautiful thing to see!

These principles are literally ESSENTIAL to successful entrepreneurs. You have NO BOSS looking over your shoulder making sure you do what you need to do. ALL OF YOUR SUCCESS will come from the intrinsic motivation you have to GO AFTER YOUR GOALS in life. Your Success is born from the internal motivation you have to GET FOCUSED, and get in the zone when it comes to creating productive work. It’s just that simple. If you take consistent action on a daily basis with the things I teach…you will create results for your business. These principles are literally a formula for success that has stood the test of time and is guaranteed to make big things happen for the people who apply them the most.
