One of the biggest factors of success in the business is your ability to pick the right MLM for you. Obviously, there are many opportunities out there, but picking the right opportunity will ultimately decide your fate.

Does the company have the right systems in place?

How fast is it growing?

Most Common Mistake

So what is the number one mistake most network marketers make? It’s talking too much about their opportunity!

So what does it mean to talk too much? This is the most common mistake that I see in network marketers. You attend a presentation, hear from a great speaker on how much money you are going to make and come out of that meeting fired up and ready to sign up the world! So you set meetings or start calling people on the phone and telling them how excited you are about this new opportunity and how you and they are going to make a crap load of money only to get rejected by your supposed friends and or family members.

There are a couple things wrong with this approach. Number one, you do not have the information to even be discussing the opportunity if you have only been to one presentation and two, whatever you say or do is absorbed and analyzed by the person you are talking to as exactly what they have to do to build the business and if you are bending their ear for 30 minutes or more, they know they do NOT want to do that!

So, what should your approach be? It is certainly a good idea to tell your friends and family members what you are doing but it’s a much better approach to stay vague about it and talk to them for less than 10 minutes. One thing you may try is talk with the person that sponsored you and get him/her to agree to help you with your prospects. That way, you can tell your friends, family members and any prospects that you don’t know everything about it but your friend can fill in the details. Another way is to get them to a presentation like you attended. A great, non-threatening way is to say “Look, I respect you, I think you respect me, come to this meeting and if you like it, Great, but if not, no big deal!”

Who To Approach and How

Who should you approach? It would be easy to say, EVERYONE, however, that is probably not the case. I look for positive, like minded individuals that I actually want to work with. You most certainly want to tell your friends, family or any lead you are generating, about what you are doing but again, do not chase, beg or bug them, just let them know what you are doing so they know. If you are in a fast growing network marketing company, there will be instances when people join AFTER you have joined as they did not know you were in it already. I have personally had this happen to me many times so DO NOT make this mistake!

So, how to approach people about your opportunity? Do not overload them with information or your excitement. It should almost be like fishing. Throw some bait out there and see if they bite. Ask them how they are doing and when they ask you how you are doing you might say something like: “I’m doing great, I’m working on this new project that is really amazing, oh, by the way, how are your kids?” Dropping a line like that might illicit them asking you for more information. Be prepared to answer them with another brief sentence or two about your opportunity. You do NOT want to appear like you are pushing it, but, as they become more intrigued you can share a little more but be very careful not to go in for the kill too quickly. If you want a really, really good book on networking, I highly recommend Bob Burg’s Endless Referrals, which, Amazon has on sale here – Endless Referrals, Third Edition Just don’t “throw up” your opportunity on people.

Overcoming Objections

You’re involved in a pyramid scheme! Only the people at the top make money! I don’t know anyone! I am dead broke and can’t afford it!

Have you ever heard any of those objections? If you are in network marketing I bet you have heard them many, many times! So let’s discuss overcoming these most common objections.

You have a couple approaches to the “You’re involved in a pyramid scheme” objection. Here are a few answers that may help:

- Do you say that out of personal experience or sheer ignorance?

- Do you work for someone? Ever notice how the owner makes more than the managers that make more than the supervisors that make more than the employees that make more than the janitor? If you drew that out graphically, THAT would be a pyramid! Don’t take my word for out, some gentlemen you make have heard of; Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki, wrote a book on it and said this exact thing. In fact, in a recent interview Donald Trump said that if he had to do it over he would have done a network marketing company! And how about the richest man in the world, Warren Buffet, buying a network marketing company (pampered chef) for $400 million! I don’t know about you, but I suspect those guys know a little more about money than I do.

- Yeah, you are right; this may not be for you.

Now, how about that last response? That is known as the takeaway and that will allow you to never get too stressed over network marketing. It is your ace in the hole. The second biggest mistake made by network marketers is spending too much time on the wrong people!

Now, the second objection of “Only the people at the top make money” is pure hogwash. It’s how hard are you willing to work. You can partner up with me in my primary business and do much better than me or worse than me or do absolutely nothing at all.

The third objection of “I don’t know anyone” is an easy one to overcome. Have them immediately pull out their cell phone and ask themselves for each individual in the phone if they are interested in receiving the benefit of whatever product you are promoting and or making extra money on the side. They should be able to come up with at least thirty people.

The fourth objection of “I can’t afford it” may be a little tougher but in probably 90% of the times, it is not the true objection. Do they go to Starbucks everyday? Do they buy lotto tickets? Do they go out to eat all the time? Do any of those activities TRULY give them an opportunity to possibly retire early? The other way to approach this, and the one that I prefer, is to ask them if they had planned on being broke when they reached the age they were at. Because if they are broke doing what they are doing, isn’t it time for them to at least TRY something different? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Keep it real with people.

Keeping the Faith

Now, you have to realize that network marketing is one of the ONLY businesses out there that does not have a 5 or 10 year plan to retire, you can legitimately be wealthy after only 1 or 3 years in the right company. And that is without a college degree, very much risk and building it part time! If you work any network marketing company for any length of time you are going to hold meetings where not one person shows up. You are going to get a whole lot of people tell you that you are crazy and or it is a scheme and tell you NO. So what! If you have a bad day at work do you go in the next day? You probably do and what is bad is the job probably has a 30 year retirement plan that will pay you peanuts when you are too old to work anymore!

There are a lot of great books out there for keeping the faith. One of my favorites is Rhonda Byrne’s, The Secret, which, you can pick up here from Amazon - The Secret . I imagine that a lot of you have read this one already and if you have, READ IT AGAIN!

One surefire way to keep the faith is to MAKE MONEY! It is so important for you to keep in contact with your team via email, phone, or whatever means is best for you and your team. Do for them and they will, naturally, want to do for you.

Let me know what you guys think by leaving your comments below! Make it a great day peeps : )

This post today has to deal with where you are at in your financial journey so far… Let me say this, don’t let any one fool you… being an entrepreneur is not an easy task (at first). Being an entrepreneur takes a certain kind of quality which I like to refer to as “the real game”. You see, if your game isn’t in order… you are probably not going to be able to overcome the difficult obstacles EVERYONE faces when starting their own business.

It’s almost like you need to have this BULLISH mentality, of charging through any and all adversity, like NOTHING will ever stop you from achieving your goal. When that is your mentality, you can dive into entrepreneurship head first and just plow through obstacles to find solutions. Nobody knows everything. Do you think Bill Gates knew how to make $40 billion dollars when he started Microsoft?

It just doesn’t work that way. If you are sitting around thinking “I need to know everything before I start a business” you have entrepreneurship completely backwards.

Being an entrepreneur is KNOWING you are able to be an entrepreneur. And the rest just follows. The marketing, the data, the details about businesses; all that stuff is SECOND to whether or not you believe in yourself enough to make it all happen. So what does this have to do with the subject line of this post?

Because you have to KNOW yourself, and TRUST yourself that you can do what you set your mind too. Just trust yourself. Just TRUST YOURSELF. The information will follow, the people to help get you there will follow, the teachings will follow, but none of it will follow… unless you trust yourself. Because every once in a while life will throw you a bread crumb. A simple win. A $1 commission. Anything that shows that creating wealth online is possible.

There’s a second side to this coin. You have to trust your intuition.

If you feel like you aren’t ready to build a business, then DON’T force it. Take some time to build your confidence, to build your value, and build your belief level in yourself. Take the time you need to grow as a person. Because when you do that, you are truly ready to declare “I Want Financial Freedom” and have the right internal framework to go get it. Now don’t use that as an excuse to be lazy either! If that is your way of putting off taking action, you are DOUBLE lying to yourself. All I am saying, is know where you are at in life, honor that position, and trust that you are guiding yourself in the best direction.

Don’t ever be afraid to seek information, and ask questions either. You will be amazed at how the universe responds when you put yourself out there. Just trust. I am going to share a quote with you before I go today.

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” -Dr. Martin Luther King

I want to re iterate a VERY powerful point today that will make the biggest difference in the world to building your business. Why would you not go out and take action on a consistent basis, and do the things that will SYSTEMATICALLY create the success you want, once you know how to do it? What stops people from really creating success? What differentiates those who go out and place 75 ads, or make tons of videos, or post frequently and daily in forums… from those who go out and do none of it.

The word most commonly used in this industry is… ‘Mindset’

The mindset of the entrepreneur who is most successful is the one that is DEDICATED to taking action at all costs. The TRUE successful entrepreneurs do not ‘expect’ things to just happen. They do not indulge in fantasies about everything just coming right to their feet at the push of a button. The REAL successful entrepreneurs are the ones who go out… in the trenches… and do the things that create success on a daily basis. And if they don’t know how to do them… they LEARN. They don’t quit. They don’t stop believing in themselves. They don’t foresee any other options then learning whatever they need to learn to advance in their goals.

There is NOTHING that can stop the true entrepreneur.

But this is not most people. And I guess the point of this post today is to really think about WHERE you want to be… and what changes you need to make within yourself to get there. Because all the “technical” knowledge you need in the world is at your fingertips. You can go out there and buy courses on this stuff… But you know what you can’t buy… you can’t buy the SELF WORTH, the BELIEF LEVEL, the PASSION, the ENDURANCE that will enable you to reach crazy heights of success. That stuff isn’t for sale.

That’s something you need to look deep within to pull up and bring to the surface. And if you don’t… then frankly… I don’t know how ANYONE could expect to achieve the kinds of results that the most successful people achieve. If I was to hand you all my knowledge… would you go work as hard as I did? Are you going to put in as many hours? Are you going to make the sacrifices that need to be made to REALLY create the reality you want for yourself?

You see, I’ve learned a lot in just the past few days even. I’ve learned that if people aren’t willing to work incredibly hard for what they believe in… then they don’t really deserve to create the dream lifestyle we all envision for ourselves. If you’re not willing to put in the developmental work and the ‘physical marketing’ work, then you’re not going to see amazing life changing results. It’s just that simple.

So this blurb on this blog post today is meant to be a wake up call for a lot of people. And to help clarify what kind of mindset is really required to build a business. I don’t know what you’re in this industry for but I’m in this to build a company that does millions of dollars a year and has the power to make a serious impact in our world. To give back what was given. And that’s the mindset I’m going to teach people. That’s my focus. So if you want to do this as a hobby, you may not relate to the level of intensity I speak from.

Because only the very serious, the very hard working, and the very dedicated will do such a thing. Everyone else is going to be watching from the sidelines… and We’ll know why.

Here’s my advice to you today about the Obstacles.

Get crazy honest with yourself about where you are and why that is.

If you’re afraid to do video marketing because you think you look stupid or will sound stupid then you need to learn why that is!

If you get freaked out every time you pick up the phone to call someone who might be a hot prospect for your business then you need to FIGURE THAT OUT.

If you have mental blockages that are SABOTAGING you from truly creating the life you know you can create… then you need to INVESTIGATE THEM.

You can’t pretend that everything in your life is going to change without YOU making the changes.

I know this can be a tough industry sometimes. I know it’s scary when you haven’t created any success… yet you’re still on that Auto Ship, or you need to spend more money on marketing.

I know it’s tough! But creating a truly profitable and successful passive residual business can give you a life that truly is beautiful in many senses of the word. But the bottom line is this… you either put in the work to GROW YOURSELF and learn what the systematic steps are to create success.. Or you don’t. The amount of money you have flowing into your life will be EQUAL to the amount of work you put in on BOTH of those two things above. I know many people need to hear this to really take their business to the next level. I just want the best for everyone, and I know that proper expectations, and the truth about what it really takes to succeed is what is best for EVERYONE to actually go out and create it.

In fact, so many people need to hear this…it’s crazy. Especially if you have been sitting behind your computer for what seems like endless days now trying to put all the pieces together.

There is ONE CRUCIAL thing you need to be asking yourself right now. Are the actions I perform on a daily basis leading to success in my business? Am I productive, or am I completely wasting my time?

*Ding Ding Ding* Please let the light bulb go off NOW.

You know why certain people go out and make so much money its incredible and why certain people never make a cent? Because of the ACTIONS both of these individuals perform on a daily basis.

The individual who is making money ACTUALLY has learned what actions make him/her that money…and PERFORMS THEM on a daily basis.

The person who makes NO money…doesn’t know what actions to perform to make themselves money OR is simply not performing them.

What I have observed as I watch people attempting to build their businesses is that there is a MAJOR flaw in their productivity. They do not have their day-by-day detailed and specific ACTION STEPS planned out that will actually put cash in their pocket. Quite frankly, if you aren’t being productive on a daily basis, how can you expect to build a business? How do you expect prospects to flow into your life?

So here’s what you can do starting RIGHT NOW to change your business. You can start by isolating the exact action steps you need to take that will bring you closer to your goals. If you have exhausted your warm market resource for generating prospects…then you need to focus on generating prospects. If you have a lead generation system in place… then you need to focus on relationship building with all those prospects and guiding them through your marketing funnel.

If you have both of those things in place and want to go bigger… Then you need to be focusing on expanding your marketing across all the different mediums that exist for you. And if you have all of that in place and STILL want to go bigger…
Then you need to be focusing on increasing your conversion rates, modifying your marketing funnels to produce more, improving upon your presentations, etc.

You see, I have this ‘built in’ I’M NOT BEING PRODUCTIVE meter.

Anytime I’m just checking email, checking how many leads came in, looking at my stats, looking at my bank account…I feel like a stinking WASTE!

I know I’m NOT doing the activities that lead to my business growing… and me actually being successful. And I can’t stand that. So thankfully… this built in little meter keeps me focused on being productive a good amount of the time. If you have not outlined what will be the MEDIUM you use to create success…then it’s like you’re wandering around completely lost and without a map.

YOU NEED TO KNOW how you are going to build your business. For me it was clear. I wanted to learn Internet Marketing.

Once I decided I wanted to learn internet marketing I just sat in front of this computer until I soaked up as much knowledge and information as humanly possible. (boy do I have another thing coming if I think that’s true.

Once I learned the ‘basics’ of marketing…I simply started taking ACTION. You do not need to be some marketing guru to get started in your business!! The bottom line is this… I sincerely want to help you. I SINCERELY want you to be successful. But no matter how much anyone in the world wants you to be successful, at the end of the day it comes down to WHAT YOU DID THAT DAY that will result in your success or lack of it.

If you want to learn Internet Marketing to build your M.L.M business…Great. If you don’t want to touch the internet with a 10 foot pole… then you better get out into those Rotary club meetings! Join a few new gyms, get your butt out into that community and start meeting people! Personally…that wasn’t how I wanted to build a business. I wanted automation and massive leverage. And I wanted to learn skills that would put me so far ahead of the M.L.M herd that they couldn’t even catch my shadow! It’s a very refreshing feeling from what life was like my first 8 months in business. And the fact of the matter is that my DEDICATION to learning these principles, and creating this reality, is what got me here.

So pick your path! What route do you want to travel? And then put together a precise day-by-day time management and action oriented game plan that you can follow on a consistent basis. I promise you…if you do that…you WILL see results.

Like always, I appreciate you and WANT to know what you are thinking, so leave your comments below!!

As I respect ALL the advice I receive from all my peers and fellow online friends, I still need to dig deep down and realize that I need to make my own decisions as to what it is I want to accomplish online. You might even have coaches who urge you to focus on one thing only, and there are coaches who understand your being multi-passionate, and encourage you to live your truth no matter how complicated and challenging it may seem.

Who do you think you should listen to?

YOURSELF of course! I know for me, my niche online is to teach people the ways of online marketing. From building that solid foundation for yourself to putting out creative marketing for creating your ultimate freedom in life. On the flip side, I also enjoy restoring and fixing all cars or trucks… so where should I focus? It would be a pity if I gave up on my promising multi-headed monster just because I’m too scared of taming it. I’ll give you 5 powerful tactics that will make that amazing creature of yours have it your way:

Where Should You Focus?

Having multiple passions is a precious gift you should handle very carefully. Transforming them all into a business may not be the best of ideas, so make sure you have done in-depth research on the existence of a market niche before taking any similar action. First, you need to figure out if this particular passion you’d like to convert into a business opportunity, could realistically generate profits. Would your programs and other offerings be in demand if you developed them on the basis of and around a certain passion? Whichever business you’re in, you’re in the marketing business as well. And, just as importantly, do people need or want this type of products and/or services? The hotter their desire, the higher the prices and fees you’ll be able to set.

Do You See The Big Picture Yet?

Various pieces of the puzzle will lie scattered on the ground for some time, then, after attentive observation, you’ll be able to see where each one of them should go clearly and confidently. The multiple faces of your mosaic will start combining and clicking into new amazing creations, and finally, the big picture will appear, with the core value and common denominator of your multi-faceted business telling your story and skyrocketing your personal brand. Be patient, and strive to get closer to the mesmerizing final result every single day – by brainstorming, observing, and staying open for new things to come.

What Are Your Unique Features?

Rather than seeing them as voracious time-eaters, think of your multiple passions as an invaluable advantage you have on the market. Make an effort to figure out the thin red line that’s connecting all the dots together, starting from your values, your deepest emotions linked to each of the passions, even your childhood memories. Because once you find your core, the one that everything you do revolves around, you’ll tap into a gold mine. Your unique features – your diamonds –will start shining like never before.

How To Reinforce Your Personal Brand?

Now that you’re aware of your unique features, it’s time to create products and services that will be just as unique. Think about how you could use the wide array of your knowledge to produce something truly remarkable. You see, your signature offerings should encompass bits and pieces of as many of your different passions as possible. This way you’ll find it easy to stand out from the rest of the professionals serving the same market you do, and take your personal brand to a whole new level.

Organize to the best of your abilities – and beyond

Managing a multi-faced business requires extraordinary organizational skills. If this is your weak spot, get help from a professional organizer, a coach, a mentor, whoever you’ll work best with. But do something! Staying up late to finish the zillionth project is neither healthy nor very productive. Set strict boundaries, single-task to get more done more quickly, concentrate on what you’re doing, and delegate, outsource or delete everything and anything that’s not done efficiently if done by you. Be the visionary, and hire people to support your growth.

For me, I always write down at the end of the day the things I need to do that will FORWARD my business. Any of the the tasks that will not forward my business, I completely outsource. Using sites such as: Scriptlance.com – Guru.com – Odesk.com or any other site like that to delegate the long tasks that you really don’t need to do yourself.

Tell me what YOUR focus is here in this online world and why you are doing it? Are you passionate about it?
