How Do You Acquire An Entrepreneur’s Mindset?

Online Marketing

Alrighty then… the subject of Mindset again?!

On the real, just because you may “think positive” does not mean that money is going to be flowing into your mailbox, bank account or email inbox. That is mostly our cheaper side feeling that… and really that has not been my experience at all. I DO have a positive attitude, I DO give without the expectation of getting anything in return and I DO practice training my mind to be positive, yet I did not make tons from that point.

Entrepreneur’s Mindset

Sure everyone does have their own meaning to what and how to acquire an entrepreneurs mindset. And make no mistake this information truthfully is what separates the few who succeed from the many who don’t.

There are those who believe that an entrepreneur, like they say of a salesman, is “born and not made”. Is this true? There are certainly quite a number who are convinced that you can train someone to be an entrepreneur. It is almost certain that a country’s economic progress could never happen without a sufficient number of entrepreneurs. Right?

So, the answer probably lies in understanding how an entrepreneurial mindset comes about and in what circumstance it would arise. There are, indeed, two categories of people who would even start an online business…

Born risk takers – Forced By Circumstances

For both, entrepreneurial/marketing training and technology can be quite useful in providing a framework that assists new online biz owners to reduce the high risk of failures in start-ups. Whether you are a natural risk taker or not, having the correct mindset is critical to the success of your new business. After all, this industry is an entity driven by human ingenuity and being related to human endeavors is subject to how the leadership thinks. There is denying that how we think affects how we would act; incorrect or weak thinking results in wrong decisions; for the newbie this can be fatal.

More Than Mindset

You can see that acquiring an entrepreneurial mindset has much to do with being aware of what you are attempting to do and why. Besides being aware of the motivation behind your risk taking, it’s also important to realize that a plan providing the direction, focus and process is essential for your online business to work too. This is where most of the training in entrepreneurship is focused; to provide a correct mental paradigm for would-be entrepreneurs to start right.

You also need a type of energy to remain motivated on a daily basis to get your tasks done too. It really does take an enormous amount of energy, hell positive energy, to overcome those obstacles or challenges that you WILL come across. Being an entrepreneur is being competitive and challenged on a daily basis. You need to be driving on all 10 cylinders… if someone submits 2 articles a day, then you should submit 10.

I know that life happens, I know that events take place in people’s lives that make them feel sad or angry… I mean to really run on all those 10 cylinders, you have to ‘feel’ a certain way. So that is why having and creating a positive world around you, having that positive mindset, is so important.

So What Do You Do From Here?

Well, I will share some of my personal story here with you guys today… When I first got started, I was met with MAJOR issues, problems, frustrations, challenges and even tantrums! Yes, I will admit that I sobbed like a baby. So I two choices, to run from these feelings or face them.

Of course, I faced them and I am so glad I did. I would not be here today or survived this crazy online journey. I know too much to ever look back and I know too many wonderful people to ever let down.

This is what I see and saw in myself. I see people who are solely after the money ( I was too). That will not get you to your end result of true freedom and wealth online.

For me, the most crucial thing to developing yourself into acquiring that entrepreneurial mindset is this…

Being brutally honest with yourself. Do you have that real desire to grow yourself FIRST before the cash? You simply can’t be into self growth because you will eventually get the cash in the end… your motivation will wither away quick. You need to really want to understand more about yourself and your ability to grow.

Seriously, when I finally realized this… everything changed for me. My vocabulary changed, I started weeding out the negative people in my life and reading books that helped me figure myself out more. Its a strange thing to see everything and everyone in a different light now… The cash isn’t those most important thing anymore, (“but it sure does rank up there with oxygen!” Ziglar)

So, when you come out of your whinny baby slump and quit feeling sorry for yourself and tap into the true entrepreneur that you are, then creating the success you want will come a lot easier… The energy level you have will increase, increase so much that you will be able to make those videos that you have been putting off… maybe call some of those leads back… write those 10 articles and submit them in the same day…

Just see whats right in front of you and don’t look around so much. Focus on your daily goals and tasks only. Don’t get bogged down with those 1 week 5k success stories… YOU need to awaken YOU.

No matter what, just keep that end prize in sight…

So many people try to force it and it just doesn’t happen, I couldn’t agree more with the thesis behind this article. I know that I personally can almost “smell” if a person is driven or not. I’m not sure that it is even possible to teach yourself how to be more of an entrepreneur… because my thinking is that you either got it, or you don’t, and that’s that.

Hey Toki, Just read your post and totally believe that entreprenurs have a mindset that is developed over time. I believe that as we start online, most of our reasons can be that same….But…like you so elegantly stated that once there, you realize that the money is not the only reason you are doing this…It is all about the people and loving what you do and helping others out.

    Thanks for the insight,

    Hi Toki,

Now this was a very well written post that totally delivered. I think a positive mindset is the most important thing any entrepreneur can utilize when building his or her business. This will make the difference from being productive to just saying the heck with it and working for Micky D.
