Writing free eBook reports can be a great way to drive some traffic to your sites or make some affiliate sales. Of course, the most important reason to write these reports is to brand yourself in the niche you are in. Basically, to gain some credibility.
How Would I Write a Free Report? The first thing to do is head to your computer or your laptop and open up a word document or a text file. I say that because this is how I start when beginning to write anything. I find that if I do the pen and paper thing, I tend to get distracted. Also, I head to a place where there isn’t a lot of clutter around or noise that also may be distracting. One of the ways I learned to write and structure reports or articles was by subscribing to marketers free newsletters/reports. I would, however, recommend assigning a different email address for this type of research. You don’t want to bombard your personal email with these types of promotions and emails. After I take care of the external distractions, I get to reading and studying. I would study the style of writing as apposed to content, although pay attention to it! The things that would catch my eye would be how the person wrote. Meaning, who wrote the most personal as apposed to being hype. I found that the more personal ones would be more appealing to me and would make me feel that I was getting to know the person. This way of writing was how I wanted to be able to come across.
What do I write about?
Then next obvious question would be what do I write about? Well, we can all start by searching within ourselves and finding what we are passionate about. I think people can see whether or not you are being true about what you are writing about. For internet marketing, try starting out with affiliate programs. I have made all my money online through affiliate sales. Normally you can do a video showing how the product works and give people a taste by giving it away in a small free report. Make this report very informative and explain why that product is highly needed. I only promote and write reports for products that I have bought and believe will help me in my business. Another way would be to do a “case study” in a niche that you are making money with and explain the steps you took to achieve this adding affiliate links to products along the way that have helped you, or complement what you did. You can also go out and find 3-4 articles in your related niche, read them carefully and then write a report in your own words based on what you learned, don’t copy! Of course, try not to state the obvious, try to give unique helpful suggestions.
Some Free or Almost Free Traffic Solutions
Forums
Now we need a way to get some people to read these reports. I like to start off with the ever famous Forums. I have been a long time member of the Warrior Forum. This is a great place to start posting and adding your knowledge. They do have an option for a signature file that is a great traffic source for any free report to be placed. Now, do not send people to a landing or squeeze page! Just give them the download link to get the eBook or report; you do not want to make people in that forum dislike you. If you are offering something for free, people don’t want to jump through hoops to get it. There are many forums out there, just do a Google search for the niche you are in and type “forum” at the end of it. This will yield a ton of results. Just make sure that the forum you decide to enter does have traction. I mean, has a following with a member count of 1000 or more; just a personal opinion. That way you can maximize that report to a large amount of traffic.
Download Sites
Another quick way to gain some traffic to your eBook or report would be download type sites. Try Download.com – Places that have access to freeware or shareware ect… The different ways to submit would be free, paid and I think premium paid. I believe that you can zip it or just have a link to your download page. Of course, you can submit to all and any submission sites as well. You can just Google the term “free eBook submission” and that should bring up some good site for you to browse and submit to.
Affiliate Incubator
Well that’s all I have for now, I will be doing a cool article for forum strategies soon. I will be busy this weekend attending the Affiliate Incubator Seminar being put on by Stu McLaren and Russell Brunson. So stay tunes for some great content I gather from the event as well as some great photos! Subscribe to my RSS feed at the top right corner of the site to get updated daily!
