In discussing about the topic how to be an irresistible sponsor (Mentor), I was really able to know two different arenas. Two different things, two different factors that come in to play.
- The intrinsic factors that go in to becoming that irresistible sponsor (Mentor), and
- The extrinsic factors that determine going in to becoming the irresistible sponsor (Mentor).
So intrinsic means, things that have to go on inside of you. Extrinsic means that things that you can do in the physical world, to create a situation where having prospects come at you is what happens everyday and its no surprise. Its just how the world goes. So it is always more important to get the intrinsic things right first. Because they set the frame work for everything extrinsic. And so what we are going to do is we are going to go through those intrinsic and extrinsic things today.
So intrinsic things, there are some factors what we think are very very important for each of us to have to attain this level in network marketing.
1. You have to be a person of VISION.
You have to kind of know where you are going. You have to have that finish line picture on your head. And its one of those personal development that sort of ideas but I think it is more than that, because it really plays the factor in everything that you do. It drives results. Because you know where you are going. You get this faster than its done, so you really do have to have that clear vision. And I will come out and show and kind of share with you something which may be a bit kind of embarrassing to me but on this having a personal vision. So you can kind of understand where I am coming from. Now back three years ago, a long time ago, even before all this began, I was just introduced to the idea of the internet. And I tell you I would get involved with any crazy scheme that there was. First I was in to affiliate marketing. Then I learned this thing called data entry online… So I am definitely the type of person that was falling for it all and then some. But when I figured out that growing a online home business is what made sense to me, here is what I mean by having a vision.
Now I didn’t know exactly where this would go but I would almost incessant just like over and over, over and over again repeat to my self about I was driving somewhere. I am going to become a millionaire by helping people to become financially free. I would be at work, out jogging just saying this over and over again to my self and I would be driven around. I would say it out loud and I would scream it some times. And people had to make out that I am nuts. They had to.
But I think if I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have been able to come down a path with a clear vision. I knew where I wanted to go. Didn’t know exactly how, or what w as going to happen in between but this vision was important and powerful for me. And I think it is important that you have that as well. Because it does make you irresistible. Because it fuels everything that comes next, and people see you as a person going somewhere. Even if you haven’t gone anywhere yet, they start to take up on the idea that this person isn’t playing around. And that’s very very important. So there you have it, you have to have that vision.
2. You have to be a person of PASSION.
Here is what I mean. Now out there on the internet, we see sales message of this, sales message of that and go buy that right now…and all that is great for marketing. I will study it. But when we come back to being ourselves, what I realize and what I have seen in a lot of people is, that they want to be that marketing thing. They want to just put out magical words that will have people to do whatever, you know you want to recruit or whatever. And the magical words are not so much technical. They are really not. They are the passion. They are the vision and those things that come behind it. And I didn’t have this at the beginning myself. Before I got started in this home business arena, I was a knuckle busting car mechanic. So I had to work on brakes, alignments, suspensions… etc. I wasn’t necessarily passionate about manual labor. It was a job. So I tried to be better but the passion and vision has to be behind it to really make sense.
I come in to the online world. Well the home business world. And I am told to go and buy and call leads. And so I do it. Again I have a script, and I say the words on the script, and hope that something happens. Now because I don’t know whether I believe yet or I want to see magic that is going to happen. You know there was not a lot of passion coming from behind it is what I felt. And not much of anything really happened. The sort of spark or sort of changing point for me was coming in to the online world.
And finding this arena where you can start to speak to leverage and speak your word through texts. For some reason for me, when I began this, it was easier for me to lay my passion through my words on paper, on emails, than it was for me to do it one on one person. And all it was, was literally finding the right business for me and it seemed where I wanted to go. It seemed that it was really going to work and believing that it was going to work. And some of the things that make me laugh, when I speak to people personally… is when someone who would just say, show me or give me a commission check and let me see that first commission check… then they would believe and that is totally wrong. Its not the path to success. You can’t be shown, you can’t get the success and believe the success and get more of it. You got to believe, go do it, make it happen and get the results.
So if one of the things that is holding you back is, like I want to see this, whatever it could be in your own situation or work.. I am telling you are going on the wrong route. The right route is to find that “thing” that you are incredibly passionate about, find the medium (the way that you would be passionate about it), maybe its online or may be its offline. So I don’t know. Might be different for you as for me, but to define that passion, and then just express it and believe that success is going to happen, carry that message forth in your actions, in how you speak. And it becomes magnetic. It’s that passion, it’s that realism, so this is incredibly important.
You must have a vision and have passion.
