Perhaps you want to start a new internet network marketing business because the job or business you are coming from has lost its fervor, which in turn means you probably lost your focus and challenge. That, of course, would mean you have little chance — if any — to be passionate about what you do. You also may be in a business that you are not succeeding in, because lack of action or a poor sponsor.

So you are thinking about starting a new business, which is OK. Just be sure that the business you choose does not leave you in the same position you were in before — void of passion and action. Now, you must be sure the business you choose will drive you to have a passion for success — a passion to achieve — not only for yourself, but also for the customers you and your business serve. It will be very obvious if you are talking to someone about your business opportunity and have absolutely no energy behind what you are saying… it can come off as fake.

Know what success means to you. By defining what success means to you, you will discover the foundation of your passion and its meaning. It all starts with a positive mindset.

So, by now, you have defined what success means to you and you have identified your challenge to lead the good life. You have gotten serious, decided to start a business, chosen someone that you have connected with and have committed yourself to being an entrepreneur until you can claim your success. Now you are ready to begin the next part of commitment, setting goals.

What are your specific goals in becoming an entrepreneur? You’ve already started making goals by defining what success means to you, but now you need to get specific. Now, I’m not talking about your day-to-day goals. Before you can set daily goals, you must set your broad business goals. Each goal you set is one step along your Journey of Success.

Break your vision of success into concrete steps. If you are that single mother who wants to finish her degree and establish a business that allows her to spend time with her daughter, you have three goals right there: the degree, the business and your daughter.

Break each one into smaller goals that lead up to accomplishing the larger goal. For example, what will it take to finish the degree? Twelve more credit hours, a thesis, a portfolio? Whatever the requirements are set each one down as a goal.

What will it take to set up your business? Learn all you can, set up an office, create a business plan and start making contacts (networking is key!) — each one should become a goal. And, most importantly, what will it take to spend more time with your daughter? It is not necessary to achieve the first two goals to work toward the third. Do not wait to spend time with your family. This can, and should, be a part of everyone’s goal planning.

Perhaps your challenge is to become your own boss. Essentially, you want to become an entrepreneur and quit your present job. When you break it down, it becomes two goals. What will it take for you to accomplish these two goals?

To start your own mlm or internet network marketing business, you must learn all you can about that business, set up your branded site and so forth. To quit your present job, you must save enough money to be able to support yourself and your family from the income from your business.

As you can see, each goal you set can be broken down into smaller goals or steps. By breaking down your steps, you give yourself direction or a plan, so to speak, for working toward your larger goals.

For now, this process of setting your goals only involves identifying them, writing them down and breaking them into smaller goals. So, if you have suddenly realized that you have your work cut out for you, don’t get too overwhelmed. As you build your value, you will become more secure in your ability to accomplish all the goals you set for yourself. You will have the confidence you need to be able to speak to anyone about your business and better yet you will be passionate to do so.

Also, as you write down your immediate goals, don’t worry too much about missing a goal or two. If you think of other goals later, you can always add to and revise your list. The purpose of setting and writing down your goals is simply to get you started as an entrepreneur. I find that writing these thoughts, ideas, goals, to-do’s and anything that is going to help get your business off the ground, is hugely helpful. By doing this, you can hold yourself accountable and also SEE the progress happening… therefore, giving you some motivation to keep moving forward.

So many people never accomplish things they desire, because they simply never get started. For some, they simply don’t know where to start. No matter what you are trying to accomplish, you can always find a starting place by setting goals and breaking those goals down into smaller goals.

What do all of the most successful online business owners have in common?

Well for starters they have vision. They see opportunity everywhere, and they are always looking for ways to do things better and more efficiently. Entrepreneurs do not look at problems as being problems, but rather they see them as opportunities to make a difference…. and a fortune.

The same opportunities are available to everyone, but it is only a small group of people who see them and utilize them. Many people do not think positively enough to spot opportunities. While most people are always coming up with reasons why they cannot succeed, wealthy internet entrepreneurs are always on the lookout for their next big break.

And the high earning internet entrepreneurs think big thoughts and set big goals for themselves. It is a simple fact that small thinking leads to small goals, and small goals lead to small results.

Big thinking however leads to big, bold goals, and when the bar is set high, the achievements will be grand. Those who set out to reach the pinnacle are the ones who are enjoying the highest levels of success both with their businesses as well as financially.

And lastly, successful net entrepreneurs have passion for what they do. They live it, they love it, they get enthusiastic and excited about it, and they derive endless supplies of energy from it.

Passion is the fuel that enables entrepreneurs to take risks, put forth continuous effort, and persist long enough to succeed. The more passion you have for your business, your goals, and your future vision, the more likely you will be to accomplish anything that you want. If you have passion for what you are doing, nothing will ever be able to stop you from reaching the finish line.

For real, if you can answer yes to these, begin to smile or you nod your head in agreement… then you know you are that entrepreneur that you were born to be…

You’re constantly trying to think up new ways to be successful, or new business ideas to try out. You’re not happy just getting on with things; you aim for the top and won’t stop until you get there! You’re full of motivation and ambition, which is an essential quality for any entrepreneur to have.

You find out how to do something if you don’t know straight away. You love being challenged and always want to learn new things, whether it’s through workshops, courses, or simply doing research in your own time. If you can learn new things to make you more successful, as well as more confident in business, then even better.

You’re always trying to offer business “advice” to your friends and relatives, even if they don’t want to hear it. You just can’t stop talking about it! It’s on your mind 24/7. You’ll take heed from other entrepreneurs, and will often carry around a notepad and pen just in case you get that spark of inspiration.

You approach risks with a sense of excitement rather than caution. You’re not adverse to risk in your business plan; you know that it’s often by undertaking the most risk that you can reap the most reward. An entrepreneur knows that risk means profit, so as long as you attack it correctly, you can be in line for a huge pay-off.

You look at other businesses and think you could do better. It’s this type of confidence that means you probably will, and all entrepreneurs have to possess it.

You’re always thinking of how you can secure your next investment. Your business plan is at the forefront of your mind, and you always want to tweak it to make it perfect. You know that a good business plan is the key to getting investment, and you want to make sure that you do.

You don’t get upset if one of your ideas doesn’t work out, you pick yourself up and get on with the next one. You understand that business is difficult, and that not everyone makes it all the time, even the most successful of entrepreneurs. It just makes you even more determined to succeed with your next business venture. This type of persistence is essential.

You’ve just read this, and all the points apply to you! LOL

So whats the verdict?!

Millions of people attempt to become internet entrepreneurs and home business owners each day, but only about 5% actually succeed. There are 3 things that all entrepreneurs need in order to succeed, and working online is no different.

Without exception, highly successful entrepreneurs have short and long term goals, a positive attitude of success, and an unwillingness to give up. These three things separate unsuccessful home business owners with those who succeed and reach all of their goals.

Having goals is the starting point of achievement. Long term goals are needed to set the mark. Unless you have clearly defined long term goals you will have a hard time planning your ventures.

Once you know where you want to end up, you can begin setting short term goals, weekly, monthly, etc, that will take you step by step to success. Short term goals keep entrepreneurs on track, gives them motivation and drive, and lets them know how they are progressing.

But having goals is not worth anything unless you have a positive attitude to back it. Optimism is a key trait of successful people. You must expect to succeed in order to succeed, and the more belief that you have in yourself, the smoother the ride will be.

And because starting a business or pursuing an opportunity often times involves risk, it takes courage. Courage comes naturally when you expect to succeed. People that do not pursue their goals most likely do not feel capable, and therefore they never give themselves a shot.

And lastly, internet entrepreneurs and home business owners must be able to persist. Quitting is a common reason why people fail to develop profitable businesses. It takes time, and the big incomes are reserved for those who are willing to continue forward without viewing quitting as an option.

Starting anything new entails risks and demands dedication. Whether you decide to take up playing piano, learning French, or building model airplanes, it is going to cost you money, time, and a fair amount of frustration due to inevitable beginner’s mistakes.

Irrespective of the technical difficulties of your chosen endeavor, nothing can be compared to the level of commitment required to get a new online business off the ground. The sheer number of different tasks that entrepreneurs must perform, from product development to marketing, is overwhelming.

On the other hand, entrepreneurship possesses three characteristics that render it uniquely inviting and reassuring. No other human activity offers these advantages to its practitioners. It is regrettable that many men and women graduate from their studies without knowledge of these facts:

1. UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES: If you spend some time doing research, you will find areas of enterprise that require little or no formal education and negligible start-up investment. By combining elements of your background, knowledge, and personal circumstances, you can come up with innovative business models. In today’s global market, you can subcontract most routine tasks and concentrate on what you do best.

2. UNLIMITED SCOPE: While many areas of human action impose strict rules to be followed, entrepreneurs remain free to choose their path. North or south, right or left, the business owner can follow his intuition without need to ask for permission. His only arbiters are his cash flow and his customers’ satisfaction. Each entrepreneur determines his own speed and how he will break the barriers to his growth.

3. UNLIMITED LEARNING: Business is the ideal field for the active mind. No discipline is foreign to the committed entrepreneur. The man who manages his own enterprise is a practical philosopher and a street intellectual. Entrepreneurs’ tolerance of mistakes comes from their experience of dealing with all kinds of people. Creativity and resiliency are skills that entrepreneurs develop by facing daily challenges.

If the great potential of entrepreneurship is so well established, what explains that it is only able to attract a small part of the population? There is one reason, one major obstacle that prevents many from crossing the line. You can name it marketing, distribution, income generation, or simply sales.

The fear of being unable to achieve enough sales is what blocks 99% of those who entertain the idea of becoming entrepreneurs. Other obstacles pale in comparison to this one. If you succeed in getting over this initial hurdle, chances are that your business will be able to face whatever problems might come your way.

Compared with previous centuries, our digital era has not essentially changed the answer to the sales problem. In the field of commerce, like in any other area of life, action is the best antidote against paralyzing fear.

Start small, try different things, explore technology, see what works and what doesn’t. Learn from mistakes, don’t be discouraged, and ignore malevolent criticism. Take limited risks, follow market signals, be persistent, and you will eventually get it right.
