4.) The belief that self education is unprofitable therefore spending money on education is worthless.

5.) The belief you work hard for a while and then the residuals kick in.

6.) The belief there is an automated business that will do all your work.

What is a “Success” Mindset – “The MLM Mindset”

Success happens when you see possibilities rather than limitations. You need to demostrate self mastery and self discipline. A success mindset is a cause not an effect and has developed new habits. You understand delayed gratification and you avoid the path of least resistance. If you just go the extra mile, you will always yield extra mile results.

Just remember this – If you don’t do it, someone else who’s more motivated will. That is your competition.

Because I will tell you this… if you are stuck in a mindset where the world owes you something, where you are feeling sorry for yourself, where you just want to vent anger or frustration, or whatever else…

Then you are NOT on the path to success.

You are on the path to more misery… to put it quite simple. Because you’re missing the PRIMARY point. You’re missing the REAL message from the Universe, which is, there are many things you haven’t figured out inside which are causing all these secondary feelings. You are probably filled with fear, desperation, anger, pain,
or whatever else that is causing such emotion.

Your PRIMARY PURPOSE is to investigate these things first. It’s to figure out THESE problems first… because those are the CORE problems. Those are the core instabilities that result in the instability we see in the rest of our lives.

Global Resorts Network has recently acquired the exclusive right to market a Luxury Travel Club membership, Gold Crown Resort, formerly offered to a few elite individuals in private presentations. The deal allows Global Resorts Network to aquire independent affiliates to handle the marketing duties, thereby relieving the travel club of virtually all marketing expense. As a result, the price of the membership has been reduced by over 70% relative to summer 2006.

How is it possible to cut 70% off the price and still maintain the same quality of benefits and service? It may come as a shock, but by far the single largest expense of some businesses is marketing. And that is true for a travel club. The club must offer customer support services, negotiate with resorts and hotels to obtain favorable pricing, and maintain one or more offices. The scale of those expenses, how many offices the company has or how many customer services representatives it employs, is dependent on the size of the membership. That expense is therefore controlled. The cost of acquiring new members requires advertising. This could be an open-ended expense, meaning that it is possible to spend any amount of money on advertising.

Effective advertising requires making people that may be interested in the offer aware of what the club has to offer, in a general sense, and encouraging them to find out more, usually by offering incentives such as free luggage, short trips, cruises, or other merchandise simply to take the time to listen to a presentation. In the past, travel club presentations were very similar to the timeshare presentations. Most people have been to one or more of these, sat through a 90-minute presentation, and received their free gift. If they haven’t attended a presentation, they have probably been invited.

Offering these incentives is all part of the marketing budget, and it’s expensive. The company knows that a certain percentage of people will enroll and the cost of marketing plus the requisite profits sets the price of the membership. This is the key to the recent price reduction.
The internet has completely changed this marketing approach. Although the private presentations may still be offered for timeshares, one particular travel club has teamed with Global Resorts Network to capitalize on the marketing power of the internet.

This is a global marketing tool that allows many, many more people to be reached by targeted online advertising. The cost of this type of marketing can be expensive as well, and that is why independent affiliates have been added. Now the time, effort, and marketing expense has been offloaded onto the sales representative, who in return are offered a lucrative commission for each sale and for sales made by their network of downline members. In this way, the travel club has been able to establish a much more favorable price for the membership, and establish a compensation system that rewards the independent affiliateswith no out of pocket expense from the travel club.

The travel club can attract more members and grow more rapidly, the independent affiliates can use their creativity to produce a diverse array of marketing for the club, and the end-user, the new travel club member, can reap the benefits of membership at a fraction of the previous cost. Using this synergistic approach to marketing, a win-win-win situation if you will, the future looks bright for Global Resorts Network, the affiliates, and their customers.

Online, there are several very useful programs that allow you to set up an attractive site which is informative – and the best part is that they’re free: Squidoo lenses, Google Knols, Hub Pages and WetPaint Wikis are the top most used sites which concern your MLM needs.

Squidoo lenses are basically a one page site that has “plug and play” modules for the various types of content – including text modules for articles, a poll module to get quick input, easy Amazon links for books appropriate to the subject, an RSS blog feed module, and much more.

With each Squidoo lens you create, you can feature some aspect of your business – starting with raw recruiting of getting your prospect joining your downline to the on-going educational materials you’ll want to provide to them.

With Squidoo’s many content modules, you can feature educational articles, which lead your reader to understand the benefits of being in business for themselves. You can also include audio file sound bites, live opt in forms, and video on your lens, so it’s a true multi media experience for your prospects and downline.

In your first lens, the one you present when someone wants to know how to make money online, for example let your reader know that there’s a solution and that you’ll lead them through the solution.

Now isn’t the time for a hard-sell approach. You’re warming them up, so play your personality up in the lens and make them feel comfortable that you aren’t out to take advantage of them.

You’ll build momentum with your sales pitch, starting with soft links for those who are anxious to get going, but linking to other lenses, Knols, or pages with more bait and information until your reader will be sold that they need a business like the one you offer and that you are the person they want leading them.

Those are the basics of what’s called Attraction marketing. But before we get into some attraction marketing basics, we need to cover some basic search engine optimization tips to ensure your social media content gets found in the first place.

SEO 101 – Basics of Search Engine Optimization

Now, it would be nice if people could just type in “how to make money at home” and just show up at your lens or Knol about how to make money with MLMs, but that’s fantasy – there are just too many others vying for the same position.

That’s not to say that someday you won’t pull in a top 10 SERPs position for those keyword phrases, but in the meantime, you need to find other less competitive phrases to attract your prospects.

This is where some basic search engine optimization (SEO) comes in handy. Basically, you will take some general search terms like “make money from home” or “work at home” and type them into a keyword research tool, like the free Google Keyword external tool for a basic search.

When you do a search, it will come back with dozens of terms that contain your main term plus the synonyms in the list below the main one.

From your list of results, choose one and then write articles around that phrase. The idea is that you will write 3 to 4 short 250 word articles per lens or Knol that your reader digests from one to the next.

For example, for the phrase “work at home,” you would write an article with the title, “Best Work At Home Plans,” “How To Work At Home,” “Making Time For Work At Home Jobs,” and “Work At Home: 5 Steps to Success.”

Here’s the important part: The idea is to include the key words in the title and content. Some go so far as to include two keywords (Ex. Work At Home – 5 Things to Look For When Looking for Ways to Make Money Online”) in the titles.

In that title above, you have “work at home” and “make money online” in the title. But don’t just stop there. You need to include them in the introductory paragraph and at least in the closing paragraph of each article. This way the search engines can tell that the article is indeed about “work at home.”

You will do this for each keyword phrase. Write 3 – 4 short 250 word articles for each lens or Knol for each search term. And don’t forget to try to use them in the URL that you create when you first register for a lens like this: Squidoo.com/work-at-home.

The same principle applies for Hub Pages and WetPaint if you choose to add them to your arsenal. Over time, that will amount to dozens, if not hundreds of lenses and Knols – but that’s your goal – to get a small and growing empire in your niche which will eventually dominate your MLM niche subject matter.

You don’t want to get hung up on the inclusion of keywords so much that the articles don’t sound natural to a human reader – because after all, you are writing for them not just the search engines.

Google won’t like it either.

But following the above layout, these basic tips will help your lenses hopefully they will show up on the first pages of the SERPs.

Finally, make sure you include anchor text links to your website where the product/opportunity is sold using those keyword phrases and create a lensroll that includes links to the next lenses in your pre-recruiting or MLM educational series so they know where to go next.

What to Feature on Your Lenses

Now that you know you need to write articles for lenses and other web 2.0 sites, just what do you need to cover and how do you organize it?

First of all, it might be helpful to know that statistics indicate that a person needs to be exposed to an idea 7 times before they will accept it. So, rather than writing an entire lens on “why you need my MLM,” you’ll need to start way back.

Break it down into smaller steps. While this education process could be all on one lens, it might be better if you utilize a different lens for each step through the pre-recruiting phase.

Start back with dream building. Devote a lens to the freedom achieved by being your own boss. The next lens could be about how simple it is to have a home business and other advantages like tax breaks.

Next, start to teach them about the various kinds of home businesses:

Service businesses like electrician, computer programmer, and virtual assistant.

Product/sales type of business, which include MLM or info product creation.

The next lens would discuss the advantages of working with a supply that will basically drop ship or deliver via email any orders directly to the customer or handle any of the technical part of the service business.

Also devote a lens to teach the advantages of residual income. Spend a good amount of time on this one because people don’t really understand the advantages of doing something once and having it pay for a lifetime.

By the time they finish your step-by-step lens-to-lens pre-training, they will be all ready to know all about your particular MLM. At this point, they will hopefully have given you contact information on one of your live opt in forms on your lens requesting more information.

Attraction marketing is about one thing and one thing only becoming the Hunted instead of the Hunter.

How many times have you chased people around trying to get them to join your business? How many times have you been chased around by utterly desperate people looking for their next recruit?

That doesn’t sound very appealing does it? Yet in network marketing most people NEVER have other people come to THEM and say I want to join your business. It’s always this game of cat and mouse where you have to relentlessly follow up, try to convince, or squeeze interest out of people who really aren’t the people you want to be working with in the first place!

Attraction marketing is different. It is about branding YOURSELF out in the market place. It is about making you the biggest asset to your business. It’s about people calling you wanting to work with you, rather then you calling them to see if they are interested.

The essence of attraction marketing is about branding yourself as a leader as someone who has value to offer others. You brand yourself as someone who can show others how to get what it is they want. And in that process, people will gravitate towards you like a magnet because you have the information they are looking for.

Attraction marketing is a science. It’s a skill. You can easily develop it, and brand yourself as a leader. There are several fundamental principles that go into attraction marketing.

1. It is all about your posture. What I mean by posture is this. You are completely emotionally un attached to the outcome of your conversation with a prospect. EVERYONE can sense emotions even if we don’t communicate them verbally. People can sense if you feel desperate to get them in your business, or your “million dollar future” is in their hands.

It’s funny, but that’s how we actually think sometimes! If we can just sign up this person, our future is going to take care of itself.
Our future is NOT in the hands of any of our prospects. It is not in the hands of our new recruits. Even if they sign up…that’s only the start. DETACH from the needy feelings you might have inside for financial security. If you are in this for financial security, get out of the game right now. I’m not kidding.

You will NOT find financial security in network marketing.
You get a job because you want financial security. You wake up every day and do the exact same thing because that paycheck is going to come on Friday. And you hope one day you don’t get cut because you are “expendable”… That is most people’s definitions of financial security.

You do network marketing because you want freedom. There is absolutely no guarantee you are going to make a $1 in network marketing. You could work your butt off for years and still have nothing but the time, energy, and sweat you put into it to show.

The people who succeed in network marketing are not in it for financial security. They are in it for FREEDOM. And they know that freedom is not going to come without some serious work. Work that at the beginning may look like it’s paying off absolutely nothing, but in the end, you are free.

Remember this quote. In the beginning of network marketing you are grossly underpaid for your work. If you persevere, and are successful, at the end of network marketing you are grossly over paid for your work. So detach right now. If you are attached, do something about it. Lose your emotional bonds to ANY SINGLE PERSON you talk too because if you don’t you are coming from a place of weakness. And you will attract more weakness too you.

As much as I play the servant role, and let people know I am truly here to help. I do not do that at first. Posture is coming from a perspective that the person you are talking to needs to
qualify for YOUR time. Not the opposite. They need to qualify to you, to see if you even want to take the time to work with them.
When you come from that perspective you come from a place of power. And EVERYONE wants more power. People want to be un-attached like you. They want to be confident like you. They want to have your posture and be smooth like you… hence they are attracted to you.

If you don’t have posture, then you will commit this grave error, which is so blatantly committed all the time in network marketing.
Selling vs. Sorting.

2. Do Not Sell People On Your Opportunity. End of story. When you start selling people, all of a sudden the control is in their hands. All of a sudden they are asking the questions, and you are the one that has to answer up. You can feel the power switch happen instantaneously. They get this tone in their voice like your some telemarketer or something that needs to earn their time, and
they are more valuable to you then you are to them. WRONG.

This is exactly what you have to avoid. If a person starts asking you questions, simply stop them. Tell them they are getting ahead of themselves and you’re still in the process of qualifying them for your time. If they don’t want to continue you can end the call right now. Otherwise you will continue your conversation of qualifying them for your time.

We are professionals. Professionals do not sell people, or convince people. Professionals sort and find exactly the type of people they are looking for. If you want to develop your posture in this industry you need to lose that “I need to cater to everybody mentality” and start rejecting people from even being your business partner.

Seriously. Most people honestly wouldn’t be that good of a business partner anyway. Start getting in the mindset where you honestly tell half the people you talk to that they aren’t who you are looking for right now. It is amazing what will happen when you can develop that level of detachment and posture. Your mind starts to realize that you really are the leader, and you are the one who is selecting who you want to work with, not the other way around.

People will notice that subtle difference. They will notice it big time. Just watch all the leaders in this industry. Do many of them seem emotionally attached to whether or not people join their business? Not a chance. They wouldn’t be in that position if they did.
The huge earners went out and had so many prospects and so many people to talk to that it didn’t matter if someone didn’t return their call, rejected them, or gave them a crappy attitude.

They had 5 more people to follow up with later that night who were nice, interested, and open to what they had to offer.
The solution to your problem is exactly this course. It’s about creating more people to talk to then you could even handle in one day. That way you aren’t emotionally attached to any of them because you have 5 new people to call every night.

Get the picture?

It’s impossible to cram what it really means to do attraction marketing, develop posture, and become a leader into a few chapters of a course, but I wanted to give you a flavor for the way you need to act to attract people to you.

I want you to have the taste in your mouth so you can start practicing with all the people you talk too, simply coming from a perspective where YOU are the one who is qualifying them for your time. Trust me; no one else is ever going to hold the keys to your financial future.
Wealth isn’t in a hot prospect; it’s in your ability to create it. In our industry, our MINDS hold the ability to create wealth more then anything else. So how do you position yourself in your auto responder campaign to have people calling YOU instead of the other way around?
